{"id":12150,"date":"2022-08-27T22:02:45","date_gmt":"2022-08-28T02:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travelseason.com\/?p=12150"},"modified":"2022-09-15T21:47:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T01:47:22","slug":"review-lufthansa-a231-business-istanbul-frankfurt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travelseason.com\/airlines\/review-lufthansa-a231-business-istanbul-frankfurt\/","title":{"rendered":"Flight Review: Lufthansa A321 Business Class from Istanbul to Frankfurt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t normally fly Lufthansa but given I was trying to get to New York from Istanbul it was one of the better options for a cheap business class fare with a short layover in Frankfurt.<\/p><p>This flight would take about 3 hours from Istanbul to Frankfurt on an A321 aircraft with a &#8220;European Business Class&#8221; configuration.<\/p><p>For those unfamiliar with &#8220;European Business Class&#8221; it is effectively the term to describe the underwhelming short haul business class experience made famous by airlines like British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, and a few others. The experience is effectively economy seats with the middle seat left open and a slightly better food offering.<\/p><p>There wasn&#8217;t much to get excited about for this flight but I was interested to see what food they would offer.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1024x430.png\" alt class=\"wp-image-12157 lazyload\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1024x430.png\" alt class=\"wp-image-12157 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-200x84.png 200w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-300x126.png 300w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-400x168.png 400w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-600x252.png 600w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-768x323.png 768w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-800x336.png 800w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1024x430.png 1024w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1200x504.png 1200w, https:\/\/travelseason.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image.png 1264w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/noscript><figcaption>Lufthansa A321 Seat Map (source: lufthansa.com)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>As you can see the layout is the exact same as economy without any difference in seating. I don&#8217;t normally eat dessert on airplanes but i had a bit of a taste of this one.<\/p><p>It tasted similar to a panna cotta with some sort of pastry but I couldn&#8217;t say for sure. The sauce did help combined with the mushrooms and spinach to give it some flavor.<\/p><p>I was pretty hungry on this flight and didn&#8217;t mind eating the whole thing. I would say it beats the chicken dish, which I saw another passenger get that didn&#8217;t look too appetizing.<\/p><p>Overall this was a pretty short and uneventful flight experiencing the so called European Business Class.
